El Salvador – June 2025

We had such a special time ministering as a family in El Salvador! It was the perfect blend of ministry time but also getting to relax which allowed me to work remotely. There was AMAZING fruit from the trip – 43 people received Jesus and 107 people experienced healing!

We partnered with our friends Bill and Angie’s ministry where we delivered water filters to neighborhoods that were most in need. El Salvador puts a high value on relationships and this is especially helpful to know when evangelizing. Distributing water filters opens the door to share the gospel with entire families, often leading to several salvations in one presentation. Brett went out several times throughout the week, praying for healing and sharing Jesus. He also got to equip Bill and others on how to effectively share the gospel. The gospel is simple and isn’t suppose to be complicated!

One evening I went out with Brett (Zion too!) and the team to distribute the filters. We shared the story of the Samaritan woman at the well where Jesus told her –

“Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:13-14 ESV

Who wouldn’t want this water?! We shared this story with a family of 7 and they all (except for the son who said he already believed in Jesus) said Yes to Jesus that night. A highlight of my time there was providing the “living” water and clean drinking water to this family.

Another highlight for me was leading worship in Spanish! The sound wasn’t perfect but what was perfect was hearing the church sing in their native tongue as they helped me carry the song. That moment encouraged me to keep learning Spanish as I will be leading more worships sets there in the future!

As always I loved watching Brett operate in his gifting – teaching and equipping others. We met with several churches and equipped their congregations in healing evangelism. While Brett was in Colombia he received further training on how to start bible studies with new believers and how to multiply the church through that method. Hopefully when we return to El Salvador (probably next year) we can start implementing bible studies with new believers too.

I’m grateful that we listened to the Holy Spirit’s promoting to go as a family on this trip. It’s not every time that I can go with Brett. We initially said no to El Salvador but both woke up the next morning with a change of heart.

In the late hours of our first night in El Salvador as I was trying to get Zion to sleep, I asked myself, “is this all worth it? Should I have stayed home with Zion?”

Would it have been easier? Maybe. Zion may have relaxed more in the comfort of his crib. He was teething (his 2 upper teeth) and overly tired at that point. I felt like we were in the newborn phase again where I was nursing him constantly, trying my best to sooth him. But through that difficult and sleepless night, I was thankful we were all together.

And that at the end of the trip, I thought yes, it was worth it.

It’s always worth the cost… saying yes to Jesus and following His leading. There is always sacrifice, but it’s always worth it.
